Scoring Predictive Assessment of Reading

Predictive Assessment of Reading (PAR) is "teacher friendly". PAR's advantages include:

  • a simple to score test requiring less time per student
  • quick data entry into a secure web site
  • immediate printout of results

The examiner receives a printable report for each student including

  • an overall predicted score
  • four subtest scores
  • recommendations prioritized for intervention and intensity of remediation needed

Using these clinically-validated results, educational plans for individual students can be quickly formulated.

Plans for individual student remediation are based on:

  1. Overall score predicting a student's future reading level if no intervention or remediation is provided, thus indicating overall level of risk for a particular student;
  2. Remediation priority code identifying the first priority for remedial attention given a student's profile of strengths and weaknesses;
  3. Remediation intensity code estimates of the degree of educational challenge given a particular student's profile.
